The Pittsfield Panthers will head out to face off against the Wilton-Lyndeborough Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Pittsfield has four straight victories, Wilton-Lyndeborough has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Monday, Pittsfield made easy work of Nute and carried off a 16-1 win. Considering the Panthers have won three matchups by more than 14 runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Alivia Lavigne and Alex Penney made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Lavigne struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Meanwhile, Penney struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season. At bat, Lavigne went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Penney got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, five runs, and one double. With that strong performance, Penney is now averaging an impressive 2.7 runs per game.
In other batting news, Ashley Clark was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Nika Pereira was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Pittsfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .543. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Wilton-Lyndeborough came up short against Mascenic Regional on Tuesday, falling 28-2.
Pittsfield pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Wilton-Lyndeborough, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
Pittsfield skirted past Wilton-Lyndeborough 8-7 when the teams last played back in May of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
