Griffith is a perfect 10-0 against Lake Station Edison since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Panthers will head out to square off against the Fighting Eagles at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Griffith has eight straight victories, Lake Station Edison has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Lake Station Edison's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: Griffith hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Panthers' pitcher stepped up to hand Hammond Bishop Noll a 15-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Panthers have won seven games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Camryn Young made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 15 over five innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Griffith got a massive performance out of Natalie Vianello, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Jaida Wheatley was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Lake Station Edison's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Griffith has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.1 hits per game. Given Griffith's sizable advantage in that area, the Fighting Eagles will need to find a way to close that gap.
Griffith got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Lake Station Edison by a conclusive 18-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
