Bishop Montgomery had lost five straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 6-17 to make it six. They lost 13-3 to the Paraclete Spirits. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Spirits this season, with their most recent loss being a 11-0 defeat on Thursday.
Bishop Montgomery saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abigail Green, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
As for Paraclete, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 20-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.1 runs over those games.
On Paraclete's side, Jessa Hettiger was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Hettiger was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That home run was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Arianna Jackson was incredible, firing off two home runs, four RBI, and one double while going 3-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Averie May, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Bishop Montgomery didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 21-1 defeat against Bishop Amat on the 23rd. As for Paraclete, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 13-2 win against St. Paul on the 23rd.
