Even though they lost, Delphi Community didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with 11 strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Lafayette only tossed seven.
On West Lafayette's side, Jack Shaeffer was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Lincoln Furry, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
West Lafayette made their fans wait, but they earned their first win of the season to make their record 1-2.
Delphi Community will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Madison-Grant at 11:00 a.m. Delphi Community has given up an average of 14 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
