The Lapel Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Tipton Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Tipton will be up against a hot Lapel team: the squad just extended their winning streak to five. Lapel enjoyed a cozy 66-51 victory over Oak Hill on Saturday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lapel to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brode B Judge, who went 10 of 21 on his way to 29 points and eight boards. With that strong performance, B Judge is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Quinn Wilkins was another key player, going 5 for 7 en route to 11 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds.
Lapel was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oak Hill only racked up 12 assists.
Meanwhile, Tipton had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They pulled ahead with a 62-61 photo finish over Maconaquah on Monday.
Lapel better keep an eye on Grady Carpenter. He was instrumental in Tipton's win, dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which Carpenter has scored at least a third of Tipton's points. Another player making a difference was Landon Spidel, who made all 6 shots he took racking up 14 points and six rebounds.
Lapel has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.6 points per game. As for Tipton, they pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Lapel and Tipton are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Lapel hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 62.4 points per game. However, it's not like Tipton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 55.8 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Lapel was able to grind out a solid victory over Tipton when the teams last played back in February of 2024, winning 67-56. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lapel since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
