This season hasn't been kind to The Vina Red Devils, who are still winless after their eighth matchup. They were outmatched by Hackleburg on the road and fell 43-6. Vina was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-0.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hackleburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Davin Dulaney, who rushed for 64 yards and two touchdowns. Austin Gerald was another key contributor, rushing for 76 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
Vina's loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 5.5 points per game. As for Hackleburg, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vina will be staying on the road on November 3rd to face off against Waterloo at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. As for Hackleburg, they will face off against Cherokee at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
