Despite the loss, Mater Brighton Lakes Academy still got an impressive performance from Delianie Diaz, who scored 17 points.
Leading Davenport to victory were Destiny Kim and Sorayah Emilien. Kim scored 20 points along with four steals and four blocks, while Emilien scored 22 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Emilien is crushing the point category: she's posted at least 18 every time she's taken the court this season. Jeleyna Britton was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Mater Brighton Lakes Academy's defeat was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-12. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.4 points per game. As for Davenport, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.
Mater Brighton Lakes Academy will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against the Coyotes at 5:30 p.m. on January 24th. Hopefully Four Corners focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Tuesday. As for Davenport, they will be playing at home against the Thunder at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Florida (Lake Region is ranked 285th, while the Broncos are ranked 264th).
