After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Poteau, the Ada Cougars were happy to have found some success on Friday. They slipped by Broken Bow 28-27. Given Ada's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Broken Bow is ranked 107th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Kolten Carlock, who rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Fisher Marr also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Ada's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-9 Ardmore and 3-7 Broken Bow (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 42.6% over those games). As for Broken Bow, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
Ada will be playing at home against Oologah at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Broken Bow, they will head out on the road to face off against Wagoner at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wagoner is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
