The Gray's Creek Bears will face off against the Lumberton Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gray's Creek is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 11 games.
Lumberton's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Tuesday: Gray's Creek hadn't allowed a single run the last six times they've hit the field. The Bears never let Douglas Byrd get on the board and left with a 21-0 win on Friday. Considering the Bears have won 11 matches by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Addison Green made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Green was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI. Those two hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Gray's Creek got a massive performance out of August Kebort, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, two runs, and one RBI. Those two triples gave Kebort a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Amariya Green, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.
Gray's Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .583. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Lumberton came up short against South View on Friday, falling 13-1. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Lumberton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaelyn Hammond, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Hammond has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.
Gray's Creek's victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.9 runs over those games. As for Lumberton, they now have a losing record of 8-9.
Everything went Gray's Creek's way against Lumberton when the teams last played back in March, as Gray's Creek made off with a 10-0 victory. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
