Bonita Vista took a 81-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mater Dei Catholic on Friday. Bonita Vista has not had much luck with Mater Dei Catholic recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Maseyo Elliott continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mater Dei Catholic, scoring 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Elliott continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Jefferson, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds.
Bonita Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Mater Dei Catholic, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 13-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bonita Vista will face off against Montgomery at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Montgomery will be looking to keep their 11-game home win streak alive. As for Mater Dei Catholic, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Helix at 4:00 p.m. on January 27th. Helix has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 199 points over their last three matches.
