Basketball Recap: Christian Community Skates Past Horizon Science Academy with Ease

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Christian Community's strategy against Horizon Science Academy on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Christian Community Warriors blew Horizon Science Academy out of the water with a 52-17 final score. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 23 points or more this season.

Leading Christian Community to victory were Julia Restivo and Lyla Miller. Restivo posted eight points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals, while Miller put up 12 points and four steals. Miller is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 17 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Blumfeldt, who earned eight points.

Christian Community was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

The victory got Christian Community back to even at 8-8.

Christian Community will face off against Kingsway Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Kingsway Christian will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Christian Community surely won't give up without a fight. As for Horizon Science Academy, they and HEARTS for Jesus Christ will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played.
