They took  a  6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hopedale Blue Raiders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Nipmuc Regional of the  5-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in April.
  Anthony Ruggiero was cooking despite his team's loss,   getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances with a  home run. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jackson Allcock, who  went 3-for-3 with  an  RBI.
 Even though they lost, Nipmuc Regional  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. That's the fewest  strikeouts they've managed all season.
 Nipmuc Regional has  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost four of their last five matchups,  which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record  this season. As for Hopedale, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.
 Nipmuc Regional will be playing at home against Canton at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Hopedale, they will be staying on the road  on Friday to face off against Milford at 6:30  p.m.
