Softball Recap: Bishop Kearney Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Bishop Kearney put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Eastridge Lancers as they made off with a 19-7 victory.

Claire Spears was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Spears was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Coral Enscoe, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Alaina Ruffino, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one double.

Bishop Kearney kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Bishop Kearney's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Eastridge, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Coming up, Bishop Kearney is taking a road trip to challenge Nardin Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Kings are facing the Gators at the right time seeing as the Gators are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Eastridge, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Canandaigua Academy at 5:00 p.m.
