Deshler has gone 7-2 against McCool Junction recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Deshler Dragons will welcome the McCool Junction Mustangs at 8:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.
On Tuesday, Deshler didn't have too much trouble with Hampton as they won 59-40.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Deshler to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carson Sieber, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 17 boards. With that strong performance, Sieber is now averaging an impressive 8.6 boards per game. Another player making a difference was Easton Nash, who went 8 of 17 on his way to 21 points in addition to six boards and five assists.
Deshler smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, McCool Junction waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They breezed by the Mustangs to the tune of 69-39. McCool Junction has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 29 points or more this season.
McCool Junction's win came from a few key players Deshler will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Mapieu Kouchinin, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. The game was his 15th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Mcdonald, who posted eight points along with 12 assists and five boards.
Deshler's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for McCool Junction, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Deshler has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 27.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like McCool Junction struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.8 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Deshler came up short against McCool Junction in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 52-39. Can Deshler avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
