Oglethorpe County and the Hurricanes are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Oglethorpe County Patriots will head out on the road to challenge the Jasper County Hurricanes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Oglethorpe County sitting on eight straight wins and the Hurricanes on three.
Last Friday, Oglethorpe County didn't have too much trouble with the Wolverines on the road as they won 68-53. Given Oglethorpe County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 156th, while the Wolverines are ranked 457th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, even though Social Circle scored an imposing 57 points on Friday, Jasper County still came out on top. Jasper County took their game against the Redskins 64-57.
Oglethorpe County is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Jasper County, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-7.
Oglethorpe County strolled past the Hurricanes in their previous meeting last Friday by a score of 72-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oglethorpe County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
