The Community Christian Academy Ambassadors lost against the Curtis Baptist Crusaders back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Community Christian Academy suffered a tough 65-45 defeat at the hands of the Crusaders. Community Christian Academy has struggled against the Crusaders recently, as their game on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Community Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Colton Betosky scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Ramsey, who scored seven points.
Curtis Baptist got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Chas Beasley out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten assists. It was the first time this season that Beasley posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Wiltrez (Trez) Mincey, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Community Christian Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-7. As for Curtis Baptist, their win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Community Christian Academy will stay at home for another game and welcome the Raiders at 7:21 p.m. on January 25th. Jefferson Davis Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.2 points per game this season. As for Curtis Baptist, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Stallions at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
