With a playoff game on the line, the Wimberley Texans rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past the Pirates 38-13. The win was just business as usual for Wimberley, who after 14 games remain undefeated this season.
It was another big night for Cody Stoever, who rushed for 234 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per carry, and also threw for 240 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.0 yards per attempt. Stoever is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Noah Birdsong was another key contributor, picking up 149 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Jacoby James and Triston Handson certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. James picked up 109 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Handson punched in a rushing scores.
Wimberley's victory bumped their record up to 14-0. As for Sinton, their loss dropped their record down to 10-3-1.
Wimberley will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Bellville at 7:30 p.m. on December 8th. Bellville is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Sinton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
