Fallston is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Patterson Mill is on an eight-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. Last Wednesday, Fallston got the win against Aberdeen by a conclusive 17-1. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Alex McDougall made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Abby Marmen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Mary Pfaff was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Patterson Mill put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Wednesday. They never let Joppatowne get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. Patterson Mill's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Mackenzie Knight was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey March, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Patterson Mill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.
Fallston's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Patterson Mill, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.
