Baseball Recap: Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech can now relate to. They lost 15-5 to the Franklin Learning Center Bobcats on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Franklin Learning Center this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-2 back in March.

Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yazuwan Mezquita, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple. Mezquita is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last nine games he's played. Tae-Marr Tubbs was another, earning one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases.

This is the second loss in a row for Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech and nudges their season record down to 3-10. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 5-3 Simon Gratz (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 63.1% over those games). As for Franklin Learning Center, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Franklin Learning Center, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Simon Gratz at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
