Southwestern is 0-5 against Wesclin since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Southwestern Piasa Birds will head out on the road to face off against the Wesclin Warriors at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Southwestern focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Southwestern beat Calhoun 55-42. With that win, Southwestern brought their scoring average up to 50.1 points per game.
Ian Brantley continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. The match was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. Rocky Darr was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Meanwhile, Wesclin put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They escaped with a win against Lawrenceville by the margin of a single free throw, 41-40.
Southwestern now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Wesclin, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Southwestern was dealt a bruising 72-39 loss at the hands of Wesclin when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can Southwestern avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
