Durant has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. The Durant Cougars and the Plant Panthers will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Durant posted their biggest victory since December 12, 2023 on Wednesday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 72-42 victory over Spoto. The win was just what Durant needed coming off of a 62-42 loss in their prior matchup.
Durant's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Wylde Correa, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. Correa is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin White, who scored 17 points.
Meanwhile, Plant came tearing into Wednesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against Alonso as Plant made off with a 61-41 win. Plant has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Durant is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Plant, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Durant came up short against Plant in their previous meeting back in January of 2020, falling 67-61. Thankfully for Durant, Reagan Weiss (who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and three steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
