It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Unity Christian Lions can now relate to. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 47-27 walloping at the hands of the Bobcats on Saturday. Unity Christian's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the team, making it five in a row.
Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Haley Doty out in front who scored 12 points along with three steals. Doty is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ruby Stuckemeyer, who scored five points along with 14 rebounds and three blocks.
Unity Christian has not been sharp recently as the team has lost 17 of their last 21 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-24 record this season. As for Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-13.
