Baseball Recap: Walker Has No Trouble Against Germantown

Walker had won three straight on the road, but on Friday they bumped up to 7-4 to make it four. Everything went their way against the Germantown Mavericks as they made off with an 11-4 win. 11 seems to be a good number for the Wildcats as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

As for Germantown, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for they, who until this contest were averaging four runs allowed.

For Germantown's part, they saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christian Mumford, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Walker will square off against Northwest Rankin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season. As for Germantown, they will challenge Newton County at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
