Given San Saba's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 178th, while Blanco is ranked 899th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
When it comes to explaining why Blanco lost, one person who can't be blamed is Mina Broyles. Despite the final result, she scored 24 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals. Broyles is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Carleigh Dotson was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 9 rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for San Saba and bumps their season record up to 7-2. As for Blanco, they have fallen quite a ways from their 24-12 record last season and are now at 4-7.
San Saba will face off against Llano at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Blanco, they will square off against Coleman at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Coleman is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
