After two games on the road, Bellevue is heading back home. They will take on the Hazen Highlanders at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Thursday, Bellevue ended up a good deal behind Lake Washington and lost 72-54. Bellevue has struggled against Lake Washington recently, as their contest on Thursday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
The losing side was boosted by Selene Morrell, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 16 rebounds. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for she. Syesha Simanton was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought game, but Hazen had to settle for a 42-40 defeat against Bethel on Monday. Hazen has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The losing side was boosted by Dakota Nap, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. She scored a full 37.5% of Hazen's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was India Andrews, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Bellevue's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-2. As for Hazen, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Bellevue hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 51.5 points per game. It's a different story for Hazen, though, as they've been averaging only 47.8 points per game. The only thing between Bellevue and another offensive beatdown is Hazen. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Bellevue beat Hazen 61-50 in their previous meeting back in January. Does Bellevue have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hazen turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
