The Pine Ridge Panthers's five-game losing streak came to an end on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat University 62-22 at home. Pine Ridge's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pine Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaylee Roman, who scored 24 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Roman continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Serenity Cressor was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Pine Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 3-8. As for University, they bumped their record down to 0-12 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pine Ridge won't have much time to rest: their next match is against New Smyrna Beach at 6:00 p.m. on January 11th. New Smyrna Beach presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Pine Ridge in Florida (New Smyrna Beach is ranked 187th, while Pine Ridge is ranked 529th). University won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Winter Springs at 7:30 p.m. on January 11th. Hopefully Winter Springs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Saturday.
