The Westover Christian Academy Bulldogs pushed their score all the way to 61 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Dayspring Christian Academy by a score of 64-61. Even though they lost, Westover Christian Academy's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.1 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Westover Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caleb Hill, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. It was the first time this season that Hill pulled down eight or more rebounds. Cam Shelton was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with two steals.
Westover Christian Academy are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7.
Westover Christian Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Roanoke Valley Christian at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th. Roanoke Valley Christian will roll in looking for their 21st straight win, something Westover Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight. Dayspring Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
