It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Oak Ridge Trojans had no problem doing just that on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 31-14 win over Central Catholic. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Oak Ridge.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Oak Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joaquin Graves-Mercado, who threw for 188 yards and two touchdowns on only ten passes. Another player making a difference was Jasen Womack, who rushed for 104 yards on only eight carries.
Although Central Catholic took the loss, they still got scores from Tyler Wentworth and Joey Alcutt.
Oak Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Central Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.
Oak Ridge will be playing at home against Folsom at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Folsom is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games. Central Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
