El Paso-Gridley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fisher only managed three hits.
Meanwhile, Lexington hadn't done well against Deer Creek-Mackinaw recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Minutemen had just enough and edged out the Chiefs 10-9.
Kayden Knight was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Blaine Friedmansky, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Lexington has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for El Paso-Gridley, their win bumped their record up to 6-16.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. El Paso-Gridley has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Lexington struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
