The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. Wabaunsee will square off against Troy at 7:00 PM on Friday. Wabaunsee will be hoping to continue their now three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
Wabaunsee have had to suffer through a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were able to grind out a solid victory over Northern Heights last Friday, winning 16-7. The Wabaunsee offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the matchup anyway.
Meanwhile, Troy put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season. They were fully in charge, breezing past Jefferson County North 54-8. That looming 46-point mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Troy yet.
Their wins bumped Wabaunsee to 1-7 and Troy to 5-3. In their win, Wabaunsee relied heavily on senior Travis Mccall, who rushed for 195 yards and 1 touchdown. Troy will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
