Asotin jumped into the top 25 in the state rankings. Asotin moved up from No. 51 in the state all the way to No. 21 thanks to a 3-1 record over the past week. Led by manager Jim Holman, the Panthers are ranked No. 1239 in the nation with an overall record of 21-4.
DeSales beat Asotin this week, 9-2, in a matchup of the league's top two teams on Saturday.
DeSales sits in first place in 2B Southeast at 13-1 (21-2 overall).
The Panthers' pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 16 hits and seven walks to lead the league in both categories. Asotin has given up a mere 121 hits on the year, while striking out 155 opposing hitters.
Jackson Webb is the leader in that category with 68 Ks on the season.
