The A.L. Brown Wonders will venture away from home to take on the Independence Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
A.L. Brown is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against West Cabarrus on Tuesday as they made off with a 19-2 victory. The Wonders have beaten the Wolverines the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Wolverines has come to flipping the script.
Kaylee Dunning made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Madyson Baker was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Mary Katherine Black was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
A.L. Brown kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Cabarrus only managed three hits.
Meanwhile, Independence entered their tilt with East Mecklenburg two weeks ago with 11 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 12. They never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 15-0 win.
Like A.L. Brown, Independence also got a great game from a two-way player: Maliyah Alexander. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Alexander was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Independence got a massive performance out of Emma Wrangham, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Seven Hope also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Independence pushed their record up to 17-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for A.L. Brown, their record is now 9-6-1.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. A.L. Brown hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .381. However, it's not like Independence struggles in that department as they've averaged .413. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went A.L. Brown's way against Independence in their previous matchup back in March of 2016, as A.L. Brown made off with an 11-1 victory. Will the Wonders repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
