The biggest upset of the week belonged to Stevenson, who took down 713th ranked King City, 22-20.
Carmel extended the longest winning streak in Mission Trail this week by beating Greenfield, 50-21. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
5-foot-9 quarterback Sergio Baez of Gonzales is the league leader in passing yards this season with 427. He has also thrown two touchdowns. On the ground, the Pirates' Stephen Hotta has rushed for 582 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Grant Peszynski. The Stevenson star has six catches for 196 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Carmel takes on Soledad. At the moment, Golden Anderson's team is in first, while the Aztecs are in third.
There should be lots of points scored when Stevenson and the Spartans face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Bruce Dini's team comes in having scored 92 this season, while Gonzales has scored 15. The Pirates scored 22 points last week as they defeated the Mustangs.
