4A Region I District 6 recap Oct. 30, 2012
Birdville extended the longest winning streak in 4A Region I District 6 this week by beating Chisholm Trail, 69-0. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Hawks.
Jerrell Fisher was the best wideout in the league this week as Boswell defeated Eastern Hills. Fisher tallied six receptions for 116 yards. Scott Moody helped Boswell's passing attack out by catching two balls for 38 yards.
Russell Murphy was the most productive running back in the league this week. In seven carries, he ran for 149 yards as Saginaw bested the Highlanders. Maleek Tarver also contributed to the rushing game with 48 yards on the ground.
Justin Martin put up the best numbers through the air as Birdville defeated the Rangers. He finished with 10 completions for 235 yards and two touchdowns. Martin's favorite target this week was Xavier Turner, who caught two passes for 69 yards.
On the ground, the Rough Riders' Murphy has rushed for 859 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Moody. The Boswell star has 31 catches for 627 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Boswell takes on Saginaw. John Abendschan's team is currently in third, while Mike Peters' team is in second.
Chisholm Trail made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 12,552 from 12,698. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 69-0 victory over the Rangers last week.
