Del Oro's BRANDON MONROE rumbled for the longest rushing play in Sierra Foothill this season in his game against Granite Bay last week. MONROE ran for 75 yards on the play and finished with 112 on the day as his team fell to the Grizzlies.
Logan Webb and Dominic Giampaoli provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Woodcreek. The connection was good for 80 yards, the longest such play in the league this season.
Rocklin's dynamic duo of Webb and Giampaoli proved tough for the Timberwolves to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Webb threw for 402 yards and four touchdowns and Giampaoli had 253 yards receiving. Daniel Kniffin helped Rocklin's passing attack out by catching five balls for 88 yards.
Nevada Union's Kyle Cota and Ian Davis have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Cota has thrown for 1756 yards this season, while Davis, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 55 catches for 978 yards. Mitchell Layton from Woodcreek leads the league in rushing with 772 yards.
Davis of the the Miners' is a few catches away from breaking 1,000 yards for the season. He needs only 22 receiving yards in this week's game against Del Oro to get there.
A big matchup in Sierra Foothill this week will be when Casey Taylor's team takes on Nevada Union. The Golden Eagles are currently in fourth, while Dave Humphers' team is in first.
Granite Bay extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Del Oro, 21-7. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
