The Rawlins County Buffaloes lost to the Pawnee Heights Tigers back in December of 2022, but the Rawlins County Buffaloes didn't allow the Pawnee Heights Tigers the same satisfaction on Tuesday. Rawlins County came out on top against Pawnee Heights by a score of 48-37. The win made it back-to-back wins for Rawlins County.
Rawlins County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brayan Rodriguez, who scored 21 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Rodriguez has scored at least 25% of Rawlins County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braxton Dixson, who scored 13 points.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Davin Hamby, who scored 16 points along with 6 steals. Hamby scored a full 43.2% of Pawnee Heights' points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Leighton Munk was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 6 rebounds.
Rawlins County's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Pawnee Heights, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Rawlins County will head out on the road to face off against Dighton at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Dighton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday. As for Pawnee Heights, they will take on Central Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
