The El Camino Wildcats won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 73-44 loss at the hands of Torrey Pines. While losing is never fun, El Camino can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 161st, while Torrey Pines is ranked 38th).
El Camino lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Isaiah Pomare, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Shawn Sidiqi, who scored eight points.
It was another big night for Matin Madadkar, who scored 22 points for Torrey Pines. Madadkar has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. Dylan Kail was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.
El Camino has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season. As for Torrey Pines, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-5.
El Camino will head out on the road to square off against Sage Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Torrey Pines, they will be playing in front of their home fans against San Dieguito Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
