It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Wesleyan Wolves had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 35-14 margin over Ringgold. The win was familiar territory for Wesleyan who now have five in a row.
Ben Brown was his usual excellent self, throwing for 295 yards and four touchdowns, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Brown is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamie Tremble, who picked up 144 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Wesleyan pushed their record up to 8-3 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.6 points per game. As for Ringgold, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
Wesleyan will head out on the road to face off against Stephens County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Stephens County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wesleyan in Georgia (Stephens County is ranked 40th, while Wesleyan is ranked 158th). Ringgold does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
