Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Hopewell

Hopewell entered their tilt with Hampton on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 7-4 win over the Talbots. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-1 on Tuesday.

Kingston Krotec made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on James Armstrong, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

Hopewell picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 5-9. As for Hampton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.

Coming up, Hopewell will venture away from home to square off against Central Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hampton, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 7-3 loss against North Hills on the 24th.
