The Trojans didn't even let Science Leadership Academy on the board on Thursday, marking the Trojans' second-straight 10-0 shutout. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by ten runs or more this season.
Saeldy Lopez was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.

In other batting news, Olney let Pedro Jimenez and Dencel Ogando run wild. Jimenez went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Ogando got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those two hits gave Jimenez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kendhriw Garcia, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Thomas A. Edison took on First Philadelphia Prep on Saturday. The Owls' pitcher stepped up to hand the Eagles a 17-0 shutout. The game marked the Owls' most dominant win of the season.
Like Olney, Thomas A. Edison also got a great game from a two-way player: Junior Rodriguez. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Rodriguez was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Rafelys Santos was a standout: he went a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Abdidas Sanchez was another key player, going 1-for-2 with four stolen bases and two runs.
Thomas A. Edison was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .615. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in ten consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Olney's record now sits at 5-2. As for Thomas A. Edison, their record is now 7-0.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Olney has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .502. However, it's not like Thomas A. Edison struggles in that department as they've averaged .612. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
