The Rising Sun Shiners will face off against the Shawe Memorial Hilltoppers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rising Sun is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Rising Sun beat the Hilltoppers 46-40.
Alyssa Simpson was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Rising Sun's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nora Powell, who scored ten points.
Rising Sun's victory bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Shawe Memorial, their win bumped their record up to 9-12.
Rising Sun didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Hilltoppers in their previous meeting on Thursday, but they still walked away with a 46-40 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rising Sun since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
