It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Legacy Charter Eagles take on the Lake Minneola Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday... Both are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Legacy Charter's tournament run continued when they took on Eau Gallie on Saturday. Legacy Charter blew past Eau Gallie 61-41. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 218th, while the Commodores are ranked 563rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Legacy Charter found their leader in sophomore Trevor Miller, who went 10 of 13 on his way to 27 points and seven assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Miller has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrison Cooper, who posted nine points.
Meanwhile, everything went Lake Minneola's way against Hope Academy on Friday as Lake Minneola made off with a 77-53 victory.
Lake Minneola's win came from a few key players Legacy Charter will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Josiah Gillard, who went 7 of 9 on his way to 22 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyrell Thomas, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 20 points and eight rebounds.
Lake Minneola smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.
Legacy Charter has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Lake Minneola, their win bumped their record up to 10-6.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Legacy Charter has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 27.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Lake Minneola struggles in that department as they've been averaging 24.6 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Legacy Charter came up short against Lake Minneola when the teams last played back in December of 2018, falling 67-54. Can Legacy Charter avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
