North Marion had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Forest Wildcats. This was a revenge game for the Colts: when they faced off against the Wildcats last Wednesday, they had to take a 14-13 loss.

Lucas Nichols looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, North Marion's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was John Collins, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

North Marion's record now sits at 13-11. As for Forest, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-12.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. North Marion will be playing at home against Atlantic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Colts are facing the Sharks at the right time seeing as the Sharks are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Forest, they will challenge Oakleaf at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: the Knights will have lost five straight heading into Monday's match.
