The Northeast Vikings and the Seminole Warhawks squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but sadly the Northeast Vikings had to settle for second. They took a 54-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warhawks. Northeast's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jamaries Conyers, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds. Conyers hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for nine straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic Brown, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Northeast's loss dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Seminole, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.
Northeast's road trip will continue as they head out to face Mariner at 7:00 p.m. on February 15th. Mariner knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matches -- so hopefully Northeast likes a good challenge. As for Seminole, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against St. Petersburg at 7:00 p.m. Seminole is facing St. Petersburg at the right time seeing as St. Petersburg is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
