Basketball Recap: Bishop Kearney Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Bishop Kearney had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They walked away with a 52-39 win over the Victor Blue Devils. Given the Kings' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Blue Devils are ranked 295th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bishop Kearney pushed their record up to 15-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points over those games. As for Victor, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Coming up, Bishop Kearney will venture away from home to square off against Aquinas Institute at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Aquinas Institute knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 17 games -- so hopefully Bishop Kearney likes a good challenge. As for Victor, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Fairport at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
