Given Jackson Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while Trinity Christian Academy is ranked 290th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the defeat, Trinity Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Rylee Hidrogo scored 17 points along with two steals. Hidrogo is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mallory Arnold, who scored seven points.
Trinity Christian Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-4) when they can't control their own glass like that.
Jackson Christian's win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Trinity Christian Academy, their loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-15.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jackson Christian will take on Tipton-Rosemark Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Fayette Academy at 4:30 p.m. on January 27th. Hopefully Fayette Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on January 11th.
