The Paxon School For Advanced Studies Golden Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Fletcher Senators at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Paxon School For Advanced Studies came out on top against Bishop Kenny on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run fifth inning. The Golden Eagles put the hurt on the Crusaders with a sharp 15-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Golden Eagles, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.
Hayley Hinds made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. Hinds was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maleah Rouse, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Sariyah Jackson, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Paxon School For Advanced Studies kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Fletcher waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Pirates get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory.
Kayla Gwisz was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Haley Phillips was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Fletcher's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-8. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Paxon School For Advanced Studies, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-5.
Fletcher's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Paxon School For Advanced Studies has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Fletcher, though, as they've been averaging only 3.1 strikeouts. Will Paxon School For Advanced Studies keep running through batters, or will the Senators buck the trend?
Paxon School For Advanced Studies was able to grind out a solid victory over Fletcher when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 6-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
