It was a good run, but the Mays Raiders unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They suffered a tough 82-58 loss at the hands of Jackson. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Mays had strong showings from Germani Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds, and Davenport Cox, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Wilson is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. Derron Lindsey ii was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Mays' defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-5. As for Jackson, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mays will take on Creekside at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Creekside has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 15. As for Jackson, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Banneker at 7:30 p.m. Banneker will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 240th, while Jackson is ranked 30th).
