The Gonzaga Prep Bullpups will square off against the Mead Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gonzaga Prep is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

Lewis & Clark hit Gonzaga Prep with a four-run second inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bullpups fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 5-4.

Gonzaga Prep saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Mott, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another was Jack Pierce, who earned one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Mead might've scored the first runs on Tuesday, but it was Ferris who claimed the real prize. The Panthers fell just short of the Saxons by a score of 4-3. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lucius Spielman was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That RBI was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kade Ferguson, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Gonzaga Prep's loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Mead, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.

Mead's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Gonzaga Prep has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Mead, though, as they've been averaging only 3.9 strikeouts. Will Gonzaga Prep keep running through batters, or will the Panthers buck the trend?

Gonzaga Prep suffered a grim 9-3 defeat to Mead when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can the Bullpups avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
