Basketball Recap: Kayte Shively Key Part of a Team Effort in Buffaloes Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Quinter, Rawlins County was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They managed a 50-45 win over the Greeley County Jackrabbits. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 47-41 last Friday.

Rawlins County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kayte Shively led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and 15 boards. With that strong performance, Shively is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Another player making a difference was McKylie Carlson, who went 5 for 8 en route to 14 points and five rebounds.

Rawlins County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.6 points per game. As for Greeley County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.
